Kokoro #079 - The Boatwright's ChallengeThis was my fourth attempt to photograph at the wooden boatyard in Port Townsend, Washington. In the previous visits, I tried to photograph the shape of the boats — interesting, but a three-dimensional challenge that makes eliminating backgrounds next to impossible. On this trip, however, I decided to get closer and photograph the wood in greater detail. This was inspired as I watched one of the boarwright's working on the seams of a boat he was renovating. His challenge became the focus of my work for the day.
