The New 100 Prints Project

Study in Vertical Whites and Grays, 2009
This is a wall in the shipyard I've been photographing, near the paint area. Perhaps these are test patches, perhaps where brushes are cleaned off, perhaps just a bunch of guys having fun at the end of their shift. To me it was all Mondrian — and irresistible.
I wish I could put my finger on what it is about such compositions that appeals to me, but whenever I try to put it into words, nothing comes to mind. The closest I can get is some sort of "order in the chaos." Inadequate, I know, but the best I can come up with.
