Sometimes — even in photography — patience is a virtue. I first saw this image in 1989 when I visited Miami, Arizona on a business trip. Without a camera, I made a mental note only. Just last March, I finally had a chance to return to Miami. The composition was exactly as I remembered it. This rarely happens, but when it does, it's best not to tempt fate twice. I waited for the light and finally made the photograph that was a 20-year-old image in my mind's eye.
