Layers of Light, Hell's Half Acre, 2006
Here is another of the images from Hell's Half Acre in Wyoming. Images that defy any sense of scale are always seductive to me; I love the way my active imagination can play with them. Perhaps because it is named "Hell's Half Acre," I can imagine this as one of those Gustave Doré landscapes from purgatory, a cluster of lost souls on the far precipice gazing down into the depths of Hell.
Okay, well, I said I had an active imagination.
