Kokoro #107 - Lace MemoriesI was tending my brother while he fought kidney cancer. It was an incredibly intense time. Nonetheless, I tried to get my camera out once or twice a day for even just a few minutes of photography, more as a break from the emotions than as serious photography. These few minutes each day reminded me that there existed a world beyond the one that engulfed the two of us. This image was photographed In his guest bedroom. I found the juxtaposition of lace to the snow covered tree outside visually interesting. Now as I look at it, I realize that it is perhaps a metaphor for what we were going through in his final weeks.
