From Kokoro #048 - The Impossible Puzzle

Every photographer knows that the basic challenge of composition is to get rid of things that distract and don't contribute. As wise as that sounds, sometimes it just impossible without a little digital help.

I wanted this composition with the point of the one rib of this ship almost touching to top of the image frame. I also wanted the large openings, but behind them were trees and a building that I simply couldn't eliminate with a different lens nor a different position. I pushed as far as I could, and then used Photoshop's content-aware deletion tool to eliminate what I didn't want. Yes, it's sort of a cheat, but if I didn't bring it to your attention, I bet you'd never have noticed it. Compare to the original digital capture using the link below. What ladder?
