From Kokoro #063 - Waterpocket Fold

Massive structures like this alway present an interesting photographic challenge. To show the whole thing typically requires a distant view and/or a wide angle lens. The resulting photographs make the massive thing look small. Not the best choice.

So, typically I find I'm attracted to the opposite; that is, I start with the "establishing shot" — like this one — and then try to show the massiveness of the subject by zooming into the details. In this case, it's the small trees that dot the rock face that helps convey the scale of this place. The only other strategy is to make giant prints — which clearly won't work in a digital presentation like Kokoro.
